Last week (not this week which will be in my next post)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I hate my Brain!!!!! I also love it… but i think i mostly hate it. I’m seriously thinking of recording the stuff i want to say and then type it all up later. So you know how back when vcrs still existed you could fast forward but still see what is happening so you don't skip too far ahead, which causes the ppl to talk a million miles a second. Well that is my brain on normal play mode and whenever i try to slow it down it works for about five seconds then crashes and |I can't think of anything else to say when five seconds ago my brain was overflowing with things to say. Is there a place i can get a new brain?

Seriously a the rate things are going i can only write about a paragraph a day before i give up...

This post im going to make more like a timeline for this past 2 weeks.

Sunday:
kept trying to reach Miriam (the english speaking rakezet who works with lone bnot sherut ) through call email and text. I watched a lot of izombie, and didn't really do much… Oh and late afternoon batya Americus randomly called to see what was going on with me and sherut leumi, then she proceeded to me an interview with National Bnei Akiva on tuesday (found out during interview it was for for administrative work). Apparently she works in the same building that they do (found that little piece of information on tuesday). Got excited.

Monday:
Mother dragged me out of bed to go to the soup kitchen with her and my sister (my sister tends to have mondays off of work). On our way to the soup kitchen we stopped at a pharmacy that sells homeopathic pills to prevent us from getting the flu, and general immune system boosters. After the soup kitchen we went to the mall to do window shopping and get lunch at Greg's. While there got a text from my brother saying he spoke to his commander and that they are going to start the process for having him switch units, but it's going to take a while (like everything in the army)... My sister took the bus home because she needed to pick up Gilad by a certain time from daycare, while my mom took me to therapy. After therapy we had to stop at my sister's place to drop off the pills cause she left them in the car. I decided to stay and hung out with my sister and the boo whom i ended up putting to sleep in monkey pjs (his choice that i gladly put on him). And Miriam FINALLY texted me saying she doesn't work sundays or mondays. So I texted her asking when i could call her tomorrow MORNING. she said I could call her after 5:30 PM. Annoying but fine.

Tuesday:
So as you guys now i have my interview today. I woke up at 8:30, got ready, and was to nervous to eat. We left at 10 so we could drop my sister and dad off at their jobs. At 10:30 I get a call on my cellphone, after taking a moment realizing i didn't know the number I decided to answer. It was the place I was going to interview for asking me when I made Aliya/came to israel (because people assume you came to live in israel the same time you made Aliya). They needed to know because they could only have someone who made aliya up to five years ago. I automatically said 8 years ago because that's when we came, and I can never remember when we made aliya because when we did we didn't make a big deal of it. she apologized for calling so late and that i can’t Interview for them because it was more than 5 years. Everyone was still in the car at this point and i explained to my parents what happened. My father then asked me If they asked when i Made Aliya or when i came to Israel because we only made Aliya april 3rd 2011. I told him I didn't remember, which was true. He told me to call them back and find out for sure. So i called back and i got an automatic machine but i didn't realize that because the person who recorded it was the same person i had originally spoken to and it didn't sound like a machine. The message basically did the whole ”if you want to reach person A press 1, if you want to reach person B press 2...” thing for FIVE minutes!!! And of course I didn’t know who the person that i wanted to reach was so  just hung up and asked my dad what to do. he told me to call the number back and press 0 which should automatically put me through to human. So i did that and the person picked up the phone and without saying anything hung up. I told my dad, he said to try again (but i had the feeling that wouldn't get me anywhere/the same thing would happen) So i called Batya and asked her to run upstairs and tell them when i actually made Aliya. She did and they got excited again, and she told me that apparently the whole building shares the number that called me which is why it gave me sooooo many options of who to talk to. The building has 4 floor and at least 3 offices on each floor with a bunch of different ppl working in each office… GGGGrrrr. but whatever i at least still had my interview.
So we drop off my sister and dad at their works. I ended up getting to my place at 11:10, so i called Batya and hung out with her until my interview and she walked me upstairs (She works on the first floor and my interview was on the top floor). The secretary for bnei akiva had disappeared for whatever reason (she was the one who i had apparently spoken to on the phone). So Batya being Batya knocked on the door of the dude who was supposed to interview me and asked him if he was ready for me. He was, so she left and we talked. It went ok in the beginning, I got to speak in english. He had questions prepared, and we got along. The main issues i felt were that i was never part of a youth movement/group when i was younger and that i had never had a real leadership role before. The last thing he asked me was if there was anything I wanted to add about myself and of course I completely blanked and said “not that i can think of, which is probably not very original…”
The whole thing lasted a minimum of 15 minutes. He thanked me for coming in and said the other person isn't ready for me yet and that i might have to repeat some of the things i said. My immediate thought was “ANOTHER INTERVIEW!?!?! NOBODY EVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT HAVING TO DO 2 INTERVIEWS!!!! WHY COULDN'T HE HAVE SAT IN ON THIS INTERVIEW AND ADDED ANY QUESTIONS HE WANTED TO INSTEAD OF HAVING ME REPEAT THINGS??!! but fine whatever. The receptionist still hadn't returned so he said I can go back downstairs and hang out with Batya until my next interviewer is ready. So i go downstairs and talk with Batya. Five minutes later Batya gets a call on her landline. It’s the secretary who had (finally) returned, saying i should come upstairs so they don’t forget about me (which i thought was weird because it was her boss who suggested i wait downstairs). so i go back up and talk to the secretary for about 60 seconds before the person who’s supposed to interview me comes out and says he’s ready for me. so I follow him into the office/conference room. There is another person who is already sitting in there whom he was talking to earlier (I found out later his name was david or daniel, it's been two weeks i don’t exactly remember his name so we are going to call him second dude). I thought that Mr. Da would leave but he didn’t. So apparently he was going to sit in the interview. And of course the main guy sits nowhere near him...

who the hell was i supposed to look at!!!???!!! If i tried to look at both of them I would get whiplash. So I looked at the main dude because he was the one asking almost all the questions. And of course talking to him was like awkwardly talking to a wall. The first interviewer was 100 times easier to talk to and i was still awkward in that interview... And I forgot to repeat some points. He asked me if i had ever done administrative work. i said no which was basically true. I mean i’m fresh out of high school where would i have done administrative work? Whatever THAT interview was overall bad. Plus they didn’t know if they could hire me for “free” because of when I made aliya which would be 5 years in the beginning of april. I had a feeling that i didn’t get in but they said he would have to talk to the first interviewer about me. My suspicions were all but “officially confirmed” when the second dude gave me the number of an organization that might be able to help me find sherut leumi (I got an “official” no when they called me a week later turning me down).
Fast forward to 6:30 Pm I try and call Miriam, and she didn’t answer. Silly me for thinking she might answer for once.

Wednesday:
I call her at some point in the morning. And she answers!!! Only to ask if she can call me back in a few hours… I said yes because she needed her computer in front of her. And naturally she doesn't call me back. So I try to call her and guess what. She doesn't answer. I don’t remember what else i did today.

Thursday:
I call her. She answers, I tell her I interviewed for the Bnei akiva place and want to interview for the other place she had offered when i spoke to her the first time. She says I can’t interview for there in the end because it's through a different organization, at least that's what i understood. She said I was out of options for what I was looking for In jerusalem but if I was interested in Tel-Aviv I could interview for the Michael Levin Lone Soldier Center and Nefesh B’Nefesh their lone soldier division. I told her I wasn’t interested in Tel-Aviv and I’m going to try other organizations but if I change my mind i would let her know.

Now I just have to call the other organizations to find out they’re options for me...

dinos. Satan, and baby!

so this week I was making stuffed animals...well cutting the pattern of dinos elephants and rabbits out for an old man to sew up(horribly by the way) and then stuffing them. They actually turned out really cute! We painted spots onto the dinos and gave them goggle eyes and little tufts of hair. We even painted eyelashes on them too.
The woman in charge of the art room had pneumonia for most of the week so I had to head the work room on my own! It was awful they were calling me all at once to get them scissors, and thread, and paint, and to draw them things, and to cut out patterns for stuffed animals, to copy things for them...its what normally happens at work so I’m used to it but I usually have at least another girl with me and also the woman in charge of the room. They both happened to be gone on Tuesday because one had pneumonia and the other doesn’t come on Tuesdays. So it was hectic.
On to nicer things...well..not really nice it freaked me out majorly my cat lady happened to tell me randomly “by the way Pamela(my boss) called me, she wanted to know if I had died!” (she said all this with a very cheerful smile by the way! It freaked me out! I looked back at her in horror but she just proceeded to tell me that Pamela wanted to know if she was okay because one of the other girls' old ladies had died this week...so my old lady freaked me out and I got a big shock...i dont think it really kicked in fully, when one of my old ladies was sent to the hospital, that all of my old ladies are old enough to die...so...that was quite a shock. My cat lady is Israeli so she likes teaching me proper Hebrew too so when we were discussing this she was trying to tell me that a nicer way to say that someone has died is to say "לפתוח את הפה לשטן " to open one's mouth to the Satan (O_O)....yahhhh...she has a touch of morbid humor...it was also well highlighted when on our walk she was talking about the cemetery on her street...
Right after my cat lady I go to my old man. And his grandson was there with a cold, it is sad that he had a cold...but..whenever he sneezed it was so adorable!and he is two and a half so he was saying things like”no! Me!” he wanted to do everything himself! So cute! He had to get out of the chair by crawling out of it using his stomach! Too cute! He took all of the dominoes out of a tin casing and organized them all nicely in the top of the tin case and then when his father came to pic him up he dumped all of the dominoes into the case again messily trying to close it forcefully but it wasn’t closing so his grandma tried to convince him to put them in nicely so it could close...he was so cute...
today I had my knitting lady. So I think I told you all how she sucks at anything with technology. Well she finally figured out how to switch the TV to the DVD player and she was so proud of herself it was really adorable. I was really proud of her though because she really didn’t know how to before. We ended up watching a tennis match between these two supposedly great players feeneder vs this other guy djs...somthing it was foreign I cant even pronounce it let alone guess how the name is spelled...whatever..anyway it inspired me to try out the prince of tennis(sport anime) I just saw the first episode so I’ll hold off on the review (it is no koroko no baske' that’s for sure though).
I held my niece for the first time today! She is so cute! When we first got there I think me and Sharona were sort of petting her like a cat though (- _-)..we need to get used to babies. she pooped when I first held her though. Well that will surly encourage me to hold babies in the future. I will still want to hold her though 'cause she is such a cute baby!

Classes and Creepy Sightings

Hello hello from America! Juliet here! :)

Sorry for not posting for a while. School just...gets in the way. As does anime. And TV shows. And eating rice. And chocolate-chip cookies. Especially when they are all gooey and moist and... wait, what was I talking about again?

Anyway, STUFF has happened recently. So classes started again, as you all know. I'm taking Calculus, Shakespeare & Film English, Astronomy, and Advanced Art (Painting and Drawing).

So now I'm going to break it down for ya'll:

Calculus: Most people in this class are the type that hate math and maybe weren't so good at it in high school. On the first day, the professor asked "So how many of you actually like math?" I started to raise my hand, but when I saw that I was the only one, I slowly lowered it, thinking, this isn't the place for that kind of honesty.

The professor is very nice, always encouraging. The only problem is that I already know pretty much everything that he's teaching, so I'm usually pretty bored. I typically just space out, waiting for him to ask a question and then occasionally giving the answer like "X= the square root of 42" and then the professor saying, "Okay, but now let's see how exactly we get that answer", and I drift off once more.
Plus, the students in that class seem to be kind of snobby for some reason. And Rachel, I keep waiting for him to say תחום ההגדרה, haha.

English: Good so far, mostly just reading Shakespeare's plays and writing a bunch of papers about it. We also analyze films. The class itself is very funny; today, all we did in class was reenact the scene from A Midsummer Night's Dream where two girls have a hilarious cat fight. Our professor had boys play girls and girls played boys, which was pretty funny.

Astronomy: Probably one of my favorites, even though it's kind of boring most of the time (today we just talked about how a telescope in constructed). The labs are so far fun, as we work with a lab partner on a computer and record the position of planets and constellations, etc. My partner and I had a fun time doing it, going middle insane from shouting "Where is NEPTUNE??? AHHHH!!!!" Also, we cracked up when we clicked on Pisces and it said, in big letters, THE FISH. I don't know why it was so funny at the time, but I guess it was just the way it was written.

Art: I've only had one class so far, and it seems like it will be my most challenging class this semester. Apparently it's infamous for making people cry (yikes), which I was previously unaware of. The professor herself seems nice, but also kind of intense. She showed us a normal number 2 pencil at the beginning of class, and said "See this? Recognize it?" When we nodded, she said "Good. Now NEVER BRING THIS HERE AGAIN!" and she threw it across the room. Wow.
It also seems intense since it's 4 hours straight, and she expects you to work 8 hours a week outside of class.

Okay, thanks for reading all that. Now the interesting stuff begins:
My roommate and I were texting each other the other day, and I thought that you guys might find the following conversation interesting ;) Also, for those of you who don't know, my roommate's name is Lydia. Anyway, here we go:

To set the scene: Juliet is sitting at her desk in her dorm in the evening, doing homework while fighting the urge to watch just one more episode of anime. Meanwhile, Lydia just left the dorm to go to the library. Juliet suddenly receives the following text message:

Lydia: I just saw the weirdest thing
Juliet: What?
Lydia: I left our room and Creepy Charlie was coming down our hall and then he just went down the stairs.
Juliet: ??!?!?
Lydia: And I had to go down too. And I saw him go in the bottom Bonnell direction [the hall right next to ours, despite the fact that he doesn't live anywhere near this building].
Juliet: Wait, was he the person that you said hi to right outside our door??
Lydia: But as I was leaving through the side door in bottom Dickey [where we live] he went out the same way and passed me.
Lydia: No, I said hi to Faven but he was coming down the hall right behind her.
Lydia: Is this a regular thing?! What if he makes rounds and stops and stares at our door, waiting for you to come out?
Juliet: Don't creep me out even more!
Lydia: Lololololol
Juliet: This is both creepy and hilarious.
Lydia: He obviously didn't have business in Dickey- heck, he doesn't even live in the JRC [our building]. And why the weird change in direction?
Juliet: Imagine how creepy it would be if I had opened my door and he was just standing there...
Lydia: Ahaha he was probably disappointed that it was me instead of you coming out.
Lydia: What if it was you though?!
Lydia: He'd be like "hello let me in".
Juliet: O_O
Lydia: *laughing emoji*
Juliet: Did you say anything to him?
Lydia: Almost said hello but caught myself.
Lydia: He probably has a file with all the info on people related to you.
Juliet: I'm picturing a filing cabinet in his dorm marked "Juliet" and having sections on "classes", "meal times" and "friends".
Juliet: Or maybe he just has a friend in Dickey [my hall] who doesn't find him creepy... For now.
Lydia: In time, though. *smirking emoji*

Well, that's all there is for now. Hope you enjoyed!
Now I just need to read Macbeth, study for a math quiz, study for Astronomy test and finish my still-life charcoal drawing. Have a good week! Thanks for reading.

~Juliet :)

All About Last Week

So first of all, Hi!!

Miss you guys, can't wait for the sleepover next week.
Okay so last week on Thursday me and my dad were cooking for a party for around 280 people, now that's the usual amount for parties, no my problem was that we had to make 480 Crepes!!! We were in that stupid kitchen from 9am till 1am the next morning, we got home at 2 in the freaking morning!!

17 strait hours in front of the stove, we cooked 2 crepes at a time to make it go quicker, not that it helped much. Eventually my dad went and ordered from Burgers Bar and we took turns eating dinner, my feet were so sore from standing for so long. But I did make around 500 shekels in that one day ....so I'm kinda happy....

I don't know if you guys know about my obsession with Play Station 2 or not, but I love it! Its my favorite gaming system in the world, my uncle was the one who got me addicted to it when I was 9 yr and I played it everyday until he moved to the states and my dad had to sell it to pay the bills *sob* Anyway, so my other uncle told me about the site Yad2.com its got everything from apartments to cars to game consoles, so I looked up a PS2 but my dad wouldn't let me buy any of them because the peoples names were Arabic like Ahmed, which I didn't even realize...oops.

So then my uncle tells me that his wife's dad has an old one they don't use anymore! Yay!
He brings it over and I'm bouncing off the walls in happiness, this was on Friday, so yesterday I brought it over to my dads to plug it into the TV and....it wouldn't work....someone kill me....I have no reason to live! I decided to go back to Yad2.com and I found a good deal on a PS2 with 2 controllers and a memory card for 450 shekels which is pretty good and the guys name is Jewish and he said not to call on Shabbat so I'm assuming hes' Jewish.

Oh, I have found the joy that is Ebay, I ordered 3 PS2 games that are already on their way, I can't wait!! I ordered the best games in creation besides Super Smash Bros, Final fantasy X and X-2 and Beyond Good and Evil. I love them because you have completely free movement of the characters and they are pretty realistic and they are so much fun!!!

I also ordered crafts stuff from Ebay, like 10 rolls of Washy Tape for only 4 shekels and free shipping when one Washy Tape here is 8-12 Shekels. Plus I ordered a packet of 12 gold clip ons for my Zoro costume since I don't have 3 piercings in one ear and I can't find them anywhere here. I still need to find gold dangling things to finish it but I cant find anything like it...Any ideas?
They don't have to be connected to anything but they need to look something like this or if any of you know how I can make them?

I started making my sword sheaths, I started paper mache-ing one of them Saturday night, it turned out pretty well....

Rei if your reading this and didn't see what I wrote on FB last night, I really need my glue gun to glue my swords together so bring it to the sleepover Thursday, February 5, 'kay?

I think that's all that happened last week...I'm not sick anymore still coughing but that's it...
I can't wait till its time for Purim, I still need a green wig but I cant get it till then :( I had the weirdest image pop into my head, of all of us dressing up as Konoha ninja from Naruto and sneaking onto the train to the Icon festival...that would be so awesome!

Oh and by the way Roni, I was fine being an only child because both my parents worked a lot when I was younger so I saw them right before I went to bed and in the morning before school, besides the fact that my parents were divorced so I really only had to deal with my mom and even then she was on the computer and I was outside with friends. Believe it or not I was a very social child, I was always outside from when school finished till dinnertime when my mom called me back in, I went home very reluctantly....

So that's been my week, how has your guys been?
See ya'll soon!!

Bored

Okay so since no one else is writing and I have nothing else to do i guess i will just rant about my boredom. I kind of just want to sleep since i don't really have anything to do at work but i get paid to just sit and play games and read manga so it's not so bad. Being home alone with just my parents is really weird. I don't know how you Tweezers survived being an only child, or you Juliet being without your sister in Israel. Luckily we have cats so i can blame things (like my messy room) on them but also just having my parents to talk to gets boring and annoying. They don't like anime and every time i try and joke with them they turn what i say into a lecture. I said 'Pasta lavista' when my mom made pasta and she basically said i didn't understand and it's actually a saying 'asta lavista' and it means goodbye...I know mom that's where i got it from! She thinks i don't know old sayings that she's been quoting at me all my life. She doesn't get my jokes either, i'm scared that she seriously thinks that i have a gender identity issue. I know i'm not a man and i don't want to be one either, i like to be tough, girls can be tough to!
Anyway aside from that i'm writing more but i have this problem that once i start writing one story another amazing idea pops into my head and i can only think of that. Ugh being a writer is so hard! Another weird thing is that i just got into German music. I found a nightcore version of this song called Au Revoir and now i'm kind of obsessed with that singer (forgot his name...mark something).
OH MY GOSH IT'S POURING! I'm loving the weather aside from the fact that today i happened to put on makeup and it turned out really nice but now i fear that if water hits my face i'm going to turn into a panda. I don't have boots so thats also a bummer, and rachel took my rain coat so i have to wear my brother's huge marshmallow jacket which doesn't like my purse.
Seriously guys NOTHING IS HAPPENING i'm so bored. The most interesting thing that happened to me since last we met was that me and my mom started re-watching DS9 which is a spin off of star treck.
Forster! Thats the last name of the german singer...yeah.
Guys i forgot my crochetting and my drawing book at home, i'm just going to stare at the wall now for several hours. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
