Hello hello from America! Juliet here! :)
Sorry for not posting for a while. School
just...gets in the way. As does anime. And TV shows. And eating rice. And chocolate-chip
cookies. Especially when they are all gooey and moist and... wait, what was I
talking about again?
Anyway, STUFF has happened recently. So classes
started again, as you all know. I'm taking Calculus, Shakespeare & Film
English, Astronomy, and Advanced Art (Painting and Drawing).
So now I'm going to break it down for ya'll:
Calculus: Most people in this class are
the type that hate math and maybe weren't so good at it in high school. On the
first day, the professor asked "So how many of you actually like math?"
I started to raise my hand, but when I saw that I was the only one, I slowly
lowered it, thinking, this isn't the place for that kind of honesty.
The professor is very nice, always encouraging. The
only problem is that I already know pretty much everything that he's teaching,
so I'm usually pretty bored. I typically just space out, waiting for him to ask
a question and then occasionally giving the answer like "X= the square
root of 42" and then the professor saying, "Okay, but now let's see how
exactly we get that answer", and I drift off once more.
Plus, the students in that class seem to be kind of
snobby for some reason. And Rachel, I keep waiting for him to say תחום ההגדרה, haha.
English: Good so far, mostly just reading Shakespeare's plays and writing
a bunch of papers about it. We also analyze films. The class itself is very
funny; today, all we did in class was reenact the scene from A Midsummer
Night's Dream where two girls have a hilarious cat fight. Our professor had
boys play girls and girls played boys, which was pretty funny.
Astronomy: Probably one of my favorites, even though it's kind of boring
most of the time (today we just talked about how a telescope in constructed).
The labs are so far fun, as we work with a lab partner on a computer and record
the position of planets and constellations, etc. My partner and I had a fun
time doing it, going middle insane from shouting "Where is
NEPTUNE??? AHHHH!!!!" Also, we cracked up when we clicked on Pisces and it
said, in big letters, THE FISH. I don't know why it was so funny at the
time, but I guess it was just the way it was written.
Art: I've only had one class so far, and
it seems like it will be my most challenging class this semester. Apparently
it's infamous for making people cry (yikes), which I was previously unaware of.
The professor herself seems nice, but also kind of intense. She showed us a
normal number 2 pencil at the beginning of class, and said "See this?
Recognize it?" When we nodded, she said "Good. Now NEVER BRING THIS
HERE AGAIN!" and she threw it across the room. Wow.
It also seems intense since it's 4
hours straight, and she expects you to work 8 hours a week outside of class.
Okay, thanks for reading all that.
Now the interesting stuff begins:
My roommate and I were texting each
other the other day, and I thought that you guys might find the following
conversation interesting ;) Also, for those of you who don't know, my
roommate's name is Lydia. Anyway, here we go:
To set the scene: Juliet is sitting
at her desk in her dorm in the evening, doing homework while fighting the urge
to watch just one more episode of anime. Meanwhile, Lydia just left the
dorm to go to the library. Juliet suddenly receives the following text message:
Lydia: I just saw the weirdest thing
Juliet: What?
Lydia: I left our room and Creepy Charlie was coming down our hall and then he just went down the stairs.
Juliet: ??!?!?
Lydia: And I had to go down too. And I saw him go in the bottom Bonnell direction [the hall right next to ours, despite the fact that he doesn't live anywhere near this building].
Juliet: Wait, was he the person that you said hi to right outside our door??
Lydia: But as I was leaving through the side door in bottom Dickey [where we live] he went out the same way and passed me.
Lydia: No, I said hi to Faven but he was coming down the hall right behind her.
Lydia: Is this a regular thing?! What if he makes rounds and stops and stares at our door, waiting for you to come out?
Juliet: Don't creep me out even more!
Lydia: Lololololol
Juliet: This is both creepy and hilarious.
Lydia: He obviously didn't have business in Dickey- heck, he doesn't even live in the JRC [our building]. And why the weird change in direction?
Juliet: Imagine how creepy it would be if I had opened my door and he was just standing there...
Lydia: Ahaha he was probably disappointed that it was me instead of you coming out.
Lydia: What if it was you though?!
Lydia: He'd be like "hello let me in".
Juliet: O_O
Lydia: *laughing emoji*
Juliet: Did you say anything to him?
Lydia: Almost said hello but caught myself.
Lydia: He probably has a file with all the info on people related to you.
Juliet: I'm picturing a filing cabinet in his dorm marked "Juliet" and having sections on "classes", "meal times" and "friends".
Juliet: Or maybe he just has a friend in Dickey [my hall] who doesn't find him creepy... For now.
Lydia: In time, though. *smirking emoji*
Well, that's all there is for now. Hope you enjoyed!
Now I just need to read Macbeth, study for a math quiz, study for Astronomy test and finish my still-life charcoal drawing. Have a good week! Thanks for reading.
~Juliet :)
Your classes sound fun! Though Art sounds scary, lol.
ReplyDeleteOmg Juliet your roommate sounds like my kinda girl, I want to meet her!!She was totally tormenting you, ahahaha.
English class sounds really cool, I kinda have stage fright and am incredibly shy when acting, at least I used to be...haven't been in a play since 8th grade so I dunno. Have you done a play yet?
Oh and be careful of this Creepy Charlie guy he sounds way to suspicious, never let yourself be alone with him!! Okay? I worry.
Anyway sounds like your having fun, hope it continues!
Miss you!
HAHA thats so funny with creepy charlie! If he's stocking you though thats kind of creepy...this seriously is like an anime. Your classes sound like fun, aside from the homework.
